(Almost FREE) Ways to Keep Your Kids Entertained on the Beach

There are lots of amusements for kids along the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach (and in many other beach vacation destinations). Of course the main attraction is the beach itself.

Children always have a fantastic time at the beach. However, everyone knows that kids get bored quickly, regardless of their environment. Here are some great ideas for keeping your kids entertained on the beach.

The Timeless Sandcastle

Building a sandcastle is a timeless classic, but be sure to make yours come to life with tiny figurines of dragons, princesses, knights in shining armor and whatever else your youngsters may prefer.

Let Them Expend That Energy

Holding a relay race or setting up an obstacle course on the beach is a wonderful way to help your youngsters expend excess energy. This activity does not have to be complicated. Rather, it can be as simple as running to fill up a water bucket and bringing it back or jumping over a rolled up towel to reach a “goal post.” The latter can be marked with a seashell, sand bucket or frisbee. Riding the waves on a boogie board is another surefire way to keep your kids entertained. This activity is also guaranteed to wear your youngsters out by nightfall. Keep the Activities Simple

In ‘simple’ read ‘inexpensive’. You may also wish to enjoy simple activities, such as playing kickball or beach soccer. Just make sure you tell your children to be mindful of others during your family outing.

Picnics Are a Favorite

Indulging in a beach picnic is another easy-to-plan activity that is sure to please any youngster. Bring a blanket, cooler, and a frisbee or other toys to make your picnic a success.

As your day at the beach comes to a close, draw hopscotch or tic-tac-toe in the sand and enjoy these traditional favorites as the sun goes down. 

Make sure you pick up any essential items you need before leaving for your outing, and enjoy indulging in a wide variety of activities during your day at the beach.
